Objective

The client wanted to conduct a study on RFID to get a holistic view of the domain and to see how much it has matured. Further, he also wanted to get an idea of companies which can be potential technology partners.

What we did?

“We gathered all the patents that are related to RFID technology and categorized them under various sub-technologies of RFID.

Post that, we derived trends & insights in each sub-technology areas – how has been the patent filing, who are top companies in these areas, which companies are researching in recent times, etc.

Lastly, we prepared an online interface which could be used to drill down into any sub-technology or company. The drill down could be performed to a very granular level (up to a single patent).”

How did it help?

The client was able to use the interface and the analysis as a work-product for further analysis. He shared the work-product with his internal team so that they can get an idea of what is out there in the RFID domain.
